There are different types of skill tests to improve the efficiency of the freelancers. In many cases, an evaluation is made on the results of the skill tests of the freelancers. For example, you have applied for the job of graphic design or data entry. But you didn't complete the skill tests of Photoshop, Illustrator etc for the graphic design or the test of Windows XP, MS Office etc for data entry. So how the buyers will know that you are fit for the job?

Many of you have already knew that the job application Quota of ODesk is maximum of 20. If you have not completed the ODesk Readiness Test, then your applications Quota will be 2 only. If you performed the oDesk Readiness Test, then your applications quota will be 10. This means that you can apply for 10 projects in every week. If you have completed at least 5 tests, then your Job Quota will be fulfilled.
No way without giving the Skill Test:
There are 342 skill tests is available from 30 categories at oDesk. All tests are cost-free in the oDesk. There are two tests of its own in the oDesk. You can perform these two tests repeatedly at any time, every time. You will be unable to give the remaining examination within 30 days after giving once.
You will get 40 minutes for each other test except oDesk's test while your fixed time will be 60 minutes for the oDesk test. The questionnaire is in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). A question can have more than one option. There are check mark box in the questions. There is a radio button for one answered options or question.
Now you can think which test you'll give from so many tests? If you want to do data entry work you must give MS Office, Windows XP, Google Docs etc test. You have to give the skill test for Graphic design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Flash, Max, Maya etc. If you like to give the skill test for software or web development, you have to give the tests in C, C + +, Visual Basic, Dream weaver, PHP, HTML etc. Indeed you must complete all the skill tests related to the your jobs.
How you will give the test?
Log in to ODesk for the test and click the Find Contractors & Job Link from the menu bar. after opening the drop-down menu, Click the Test Link from the menu.
Please see the image mentioned above there are the list of a number of tests. From there, click on the required tests. A page will be displayed; this page gives you the syllabus for the tests. Now Click the Start Test button.You will be informed the Policy and Rules of Test with the other issues in the next page. Click the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Click the Here to start your test button. The questionnaire for the test will appear in front of you in the next page. Now answer the questions.

oDesk Readiness Test:
There are two types Readiness Test in ODesk. One of them for Independent Contractor and anothe for the Agency Contractor. Without this test you can not get a job in oDesk. You must be passed the Readiness test before applying for a job. There are a total of 11 questions in the form of MCQ and time limit is 60 minutes.
